Doha: European stock markets closed mixed on Monday, The pan-European Stoxx 600 index fell 0.9 percent to close at 586.99 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, Germany's DAX index rose 0.3 percent to 24,296.15 points. In contrast, Britain's FTSE 100 index declined by about 0.4 percent to 9,865.97 points. France's CAC 40 index also closed down 0.3 percent at 8,121.07 points.

The Stoxx 600 had risen more than 1 percent last week after US consumer price inflation slowed.
