European Shares Open Mixed with Sector Variations

Doha: European shares saw a mixed opening on Wednesday morning.

According to Qatar News Agency, the pan-European STOXX 600 index experienced a slight decrease of 0.02 percent, settling at 634.50 points as trading commenced. The aerospace and defense sector was the primary decliner, dropping 1.7 percent. In contrast, the real estate sector showed resilience with a 2.4 percent rise, marking the largest gain within the index. Meanwhile, the technology sector inched up by 0.3 percent, rebounding from its most significant single-day decline in nearly five months during the prior session.

Across major European markets, France's CAC 40 index saw an increase of 0.22 percent. However, Britain's FTSE 100 experienced a slight decline of 0.07 percent. Germany's DAX index faced a more substantial drop, slipping by 0.43 percent, while Italy's FTSE MIB edged down by 0.10 percent as trading began.
