European Commission to Present Measures to Compel Israeli Entity to End Aggression on Gaza Wednesday

Brussels: High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas stressed that the Israeli occupation army’s ground offensive in the Gaza Strip will make the already desperate situation even worse.

According to Qatar News Agency, Kallas stated in a post on the X platform Tuesday that the offensive would lead to “more death, more destruction and more displacement,” and highlighted the European Commission’s plan to introduce measures aimed at pressuring the Israeli government to change its approach to the war in Gaza.

Kallas suggested that suspending trade concessions and imposing sanctions on extremist ministers and violent settlers would send a clear message that the EU demands an end to the conflict. Her comments come amid ongoing violent raids by Israeli occupation warplanes on Gaza City, which have intensified as the Israeli occupation forces have increased their bombing and demolition of buildings with the intent to displace Palestinians southward.

The death toll and number of wounded have been rising rapidly due to the ongoing aerial and artillery attacks on various areas in the Gaza Strip. Since the escalation began on October 7, 2023, the death toll has reached 64,964, with 165,312 people reported wounded.
