EU Urges Israeli Compliance with International Norms in West Bank

Doha: has issued a strong call to the Israeli entity, urging adherence to international law, the protection of civilians in the occupied West Bank, and the facilitation of the safe return of displaced individuals to their homes.

According to Qatar News Agency, the EU released a statement expressing deep concern over the consequences of Israeli actions against Palestinians in the northern West Bank. The EU highlighted the urgent need for the Israeli entity to take decisive action against settler violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Furthermore, the EU voiced its apprehension regarding the increasing number of Israeli military barricades in the West Bank. These barriers are seen as significant obstacles that limit movement and worsen the economic and humanitarian conditions in the region.

The ongoing 40-day military offensive by Israeli forces in the West Bank has predominantly targeted neighborhoods within refugee camps. This has resulted in numerous casualties, the displacement of approximately 40,000 Palestinians, and extensive damage to essential civilian infrastructure in the area.
