EU High Representative Criticizes US President’s Handling of Ukrainian President

Washington: High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas sharply criticized the altercation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday at the White House, saying that the free world needs a new leader.

According to Qatar News Agency, Kallas wrote on social media that Ukraine is Europe, and they stand by it, emphasizing that the European Union will continue to strengthen its support for Kyiv to enable it to defend its territory.

The European official described Trump’s remarks toward Zelenskyy as a verbal attack, and stated that it has become clear that the free world needs a new leader, and that it is up to the Europeans to respond to this challenge.

Yesterday (Friday) during a heated exchange at the White House, Trump harshly criticized Zelenskyy, accusing him of recklessly endangering global security by refusing to negotiate a peace agreement with Russia, warning that he was gambling with the outbreak of a third world war and the lives of millions.

Trump also emphasized Ukraine’s weak position in the war, claiming that Zelenskyy lacked the leverage to dictate how Washington interacts with Moscow.
