EU Condemns Ongoing Israeli Settler Violence in West Bank

Brussels: The European Union, through its High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, reiterated that it strongly condemns settler violence in the West Bank and is closely monitoring developments.

According to Qatar News Agency, in remarks to a Palestinian delegation at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, Kallas said that discussions were underway regarding intimidation campaigns, physical and verbal attacks, and the destruction and burning of property and homes by settlers, adding that these practices were unacceptable to the EU.

Kallas emphasized that the EU remains among the strongest supporters of the Palestinian people through aid programs, development projects, and efforts to bolster the role of the Palestinian Authority within the framework of the two-state solution. She underscored the importance of strengthening the partnership between the EU and the Palestinian Authority.

She also said that the EU expects Israel, as the occupying power, to take immediate, decisive steps and to hold perpetrators of settler violence accountable.
