Brussels: The European Union (EU), on Tuesday officially adopted a new set of sanctions imposed on Russia, targeting its oil tanker fleet, in addition to threatening more sanctions due to Moscow's refusal of a truce with Ukraine.

According to Qatar News Agency, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas posted on X saying that the 17th package of sanctions targets about 200 of Russia's shadow fleet's vessels, adding that the longer the war goes on, the tougher sanctions will become.
