Erbil, Baghdad Agree on Mechanism to Resume Oil Exports

Erbil: The Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq announced today that it has reached an agreement with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil on a mechanism to resume oil exports.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was reached following comprehensive field visits to all oil fields in the region, assessing technical issues, and conducting extensive discussions. The ministry revealed that, as a first stage, 50,000 barrels will be allocated to meet the region's local needs, while the remainder will be delivered to Iraq's State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) for export.

Regarding the resumption of Kurdistan Region oil exports, the ministry noted that this will be carried out through discussions between the federal government in Baghdad and the Turkish government.
