Manama: HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, declared that the Israeli aggression against Qatar poses a serious threat to regional stability and undermines ongoing peace efforts, especially amid the current conflict in the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, speaking at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, highlighted Qatar's ongoing collaboration with Egypt and the United States to secure a lasting ceasefire and the release of hostages and detainees. He urged Arab and Islamic nations to show solidarity with Qatar, unify their positions, and press the international community to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in line with international law and the United Nations Charter.

The Bahraini representative reaffirmed the country's unwavering stance on the immediate cessation of hostilities, the safeguarding of civilians, the prevention of forced displacement, the prompt release of hostages, and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza's residents.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa reiterated that the Palestinian issue is central to resolving the Middle East conflict, advocating for direct negotiations that lead to a just settlement and the creation of a viable, independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, as per the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

Additionally, he welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the "New York Declaration" for the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution.
