Egyptian President and Greek Prime Minister Engage in Talks on Middle East Tensions

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed regional developments in a phone call today with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing on the latest developments in the conflict between Iran and Israel, the escalation in Gaza, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian presidency indicated that the call emphasized the importance of halting the current escalation and highlighted that a negotiated political solution is the only way to resolve the crisis, steering clear of military solutions.

The two leaders expressed deep concerns about the potential for ongoing military operations in the region to precipitate a new wave of instability. This instability could negatively affect the peoples of the entire Middle East and threaten peace and security on both regional and international fronts. They stressed that the current tensions between Iran and Israel should not overshadow the ongoing humanitarian issues in the Gaza Strip.
