EGYPTIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY: AN EMPLOYEE OF OUR EMBASSY IN KHARTOUM WAS INJURED, AND OUR DIPLOMATS ARE PREPARING FOR THE EVACUATION OF OUR COMMUNITY

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry revealed that an employee of its embassy in Khartoum was injured as a result of the ongoing battles there, stressing that Egyptian diplomats “will not leave the field” before checking on every citizen, according to “Russia Today” news agency.

This came in statements made by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ahmed Abu Zeid, in response to an inquiry from a number of editors this morning, about the situation regarding the evacuation of members of the Egyptian community in Sudan and members of the diplomatic mission and official technical missions.

Abu Zeid revealed that a member of the Egyptian embassy was actually shot, noting that this matter “confirms once again the need to exercise utmost caution in order to preserve the safety of our citizens and members of our missions in Sudan.”
