Egyptian and Turkish Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza Crisis Over Phone

Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty held a phone call on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to discuss the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the Gaza Strip and the urgent need to address it in light of the ongoing systematic starvation policy.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two ministers emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts with international stakeholders to halt the brutal Israeli aggression on the Strip and to reach a deal that would ensure the release of hostages, end the current starvation tactics, and counter Israel blatant disregard for international law and international humanitarian law.

They also reaffirmed the need to exert pressure on both parties involved to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in regional landscape, including the situations in Syria and Libya, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in areas of economic and trade cooperation.
