Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed, during a phone call Sunday, with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, the dangers of the widening scope of military confrontations in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, the two ministers stressed the importance of continuing joint coordination and intensifying bilateral consultations in a manner that safeguards Arab national security and protects the interests of the countries and peoples of the region.

In this context, the Egyptian foreign minister warned that the persistence of military operations places the security and stability of the entire region before serious challenges. He underscored the necessity of an immediate halt to all forms of escalation and prioritizing de-escalation pathways to prevent the region from sliding into broader and more destructive confrontations.

The call also addressed the repercussions of attacks that targeted Jordanian territory, as well as several Arab countries. The Egyptian foreign minister affirmed his country's full solidarity with Jordan in facing the consequences of these attacks.

He further stressed Egypt's condemnation of any violation of Jordan's sovereignty or threats to its security and stability, reiterating Cairo's rejection of any justifications aimed at legitimizing such attacks.
