Egypt Welcomes Global Condemnation of Israeli Actions in Gaza

Doha: Egypt welcomed the significant shift in the stance of key international actors, marked by a firm rejection of the egregious Israeli violations in Gaza Strip and the brutal use of military force against innocent, unarmed civilians. This has been accompanied by imposition of an unprecedented starvation policy, which stands in stark violation of international conflict norms.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement issued on Thursday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that this shift in international positions recently materialized through several positive steps, including the joint statement by the leaders of France, United Kingdom, and Canada; European Union's decision to review Israel's compliance with Article 2 of EU-Israel Association Agreement; and ongoing moves toward coordinated recognition of the State of Palestine by several countries.

The Ministry described these developments as a rightful show of international solidarity and overdue support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people - rights that have long been unjustly denied. It further emphasized that these actions could form the foundation for a broader international effort aimed at correcting course and ending a longstanding history of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.

Egypt also expressed its full support for these steps and its hope for further action to bring an end to the war in Gaza. It urged other nations to align with this momentum, in a show of support for a rules-based international order and in defense of the principles of international humanitarian law.
