Doha: Egypt called on the international community to bolster efforts to provide sustainable funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), ensuring the continued provision of its vital services to refugees, safeguarding their fundamental rights, and enhancing the prospects for achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement issued today, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the UN General Assembly's renewal of UNRWA's mandate for three years a reflection of the international community's commitment to the Palestinian refugee issue and their right to live in dignity until a just and lasting solution to their plight is reached.

The Ministry affirmed Egypt's full support for UNRWA, emphasizing that the agency's role remains pivotal and irreplaceable, as it is the primary provider of essential services to millions of Palestinian refugees.
