Egypt, Sudan FMs Discuss Pathways for Sudan Crisis Resolution

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty engaged in a telephone conversation with his Sudanese counterpart Muhi Al Din Salem to explore strategies for supporting a comprehensive resolution to the Sudanese crisis.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelaaty emphasized Egypt's steadfast commitment to supporting Sudan's unity, territorial integrity, and the protection of its national institutions. He expressed strong opposition to any actions that might lead to the fragmentation of Sudan or threaten its stability, as stated in a release by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

Abdelaaty condemned the recent atrocities and violations in Al Fashir city, reaffirming Egypt's solidarity with the Sudanese people during this challenging time and its support for the government led by Dr. Kamil Idris.

He highlighted the necessity of establishing an effective humanitarian corridor to guarantee the unhindered delivery of life-saving aid, alongside an increase in relief support and enhanced collaboration with the United Nations, African Union, and relief agencies.

Abdelaaty also stressed the importance of coordinated regional and international efforts to support a comprehensive ceasefire and foster conditions conducive to launching an inclusive political process.
