Doha: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held a series of phone calls with counterparts from Oman, Pakistan, Canada, and Brazil to discuss the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to contain tensions in the Middle East. Abdelatty's diplomatic outreach underlines the significance of international cooperation in addressing complex geopolitical issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty engaged in discussions with Badr Al Busaidi of Oman, Muhammad Ishaq Dar of Pakistan, Anita Anand of Canada, and Mauro Vieira of Brazil. The discussions centered on diplomatic efforts and negotiations involving the United States and Iran. The ministers emphasized the need for supporting understandings aimed at consolidating a ceasefire, ending the war, establishing regional stability, advancing political solutions over military escalation, and safeguarding freedom of international navigation.

In relation to the Palestinian issue, Abdelatty, during his calls with his Brazilian and Canadian counterparts, stressed the importance of progressing to the second phase of the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. He highlighted the necessity for the national committee tasked with administering the Gaza Strip to begin operations from within the territory. Additionally, he called for the swift deployment of an international stabilization force to create the necessary security environment for the transitional phase.

Abdelatty also reaffirmed Egypt's categorical rejection and condemnation of ongoing Israeli violations in the West Bank, underscoring Egypt's persistent stance on the matter.
