Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam in Cairo to discuss pressing regional and global issues, particularly focusing on the current situation in the Middle East.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Presidency released a statement highlighting the key points of the discussion, which included Egypt's proactive measures to secure an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, and work towards the release of hostages and prisoners. Both leaders expressed their opposition to the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland.
President El-Sisi expressed gratitude for the humanitarian aid provided by Singapore to the people of Gaza through Egyptian channels. He emphasized the difficulties faced in ensuring the effective delivery of this aid amidst ongoing regional challenges.

He reaffirmed Egypt's stance against any attempts to erase the Palestinian cause or displace its people. He further stated that achieving a just and comprehensive peace, along with regional stability, is contingent upon recognizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967.
