Egypt and Qatar Seek to Enhance Bilateral Relations Across Multiple Sectors

Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty has emphasized Egypt's shared commitment with Qatar to advance bilateral relations across all fields.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Abdelatty made these remarks on the sidelines of the 6th session of the Joint Higher Egyptian-Qatari Committee, highlighting the distinguished level of relations between the two countries under the guidance of their leaders.

Dr. Abdelatty noted a significant increase in trade relations, with a more than 54 percent rise over the past year. The discussions focused on boosting economic partnerships, particularly through new Qatari investments worth USD 7.5 billion in sectors like agriculture, food security, real estate development, tourism, and renewable energy. They also addressed cooperation in education and culture, building on recent cultural exchanges during the "Year of Egypt in Qatar."

The minister also met with Qatar's Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, to discuss regional issues, with particular focus on the Palestinian cause. Both countries are actively working to halt the Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and are addressing violations in the West Bank.

Dr. Abdelatty concluded by noting discussions on regional concerns, including early recovery and reconstruction efforts in Palestine, as well as issues in Sudan, Libya, Syria, and Lebanon. Both nations condemned the repeated Israeli aggression in Syria and Lebanon, affirming their stance on regional stability.
