Egypt and Oman Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Regional Affairs

Egypt: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi held discussions on enhancing bilateral relationships across multiple sectors, while also exchanging views on regional issues of mutual interest.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement emphasizing that both ministers agreed on their countries' aligned perspectives and efforts to strengthen regional security and stability. This commitment involves adhering to international law principles, advocating for justice, and utilizing peaceful methods to unite all parties, in alignment with the supreme interests, sovereignty, and national security of the states involved.

The ministers reiterated their strong support for the Palestinian people's right to freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. They also highlighted the necessity of lifting the blockade on the Gaza Strip and other occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. This action would facilitate the entry of relief and humanitarian aid, enabling reconstruction and restoring a dignified life for the residents.

In terms of Yemen, both sides expressed their backing for intra-Yemeni dialogue in Riyadh, aiming for a consensus-based resolution to the southern Yemen issue. This would contribute to a comprehensive political settlement that maintains Yemen's sovereignty, unity, and stability, while fulfilling the aspirations of its citizens for security and prosperity.

Regarding Sudan, the ministers emphasized the need to support national institutions, stop fighting and escalation, protect civilians, and facilitate humanitarian aid delivery through UN agencies and relevant civil society organizations. They also advocated for efforts to achieve a consensual political solution that respects the Sudanese people's rights and choices, ensuring their sovereignty and stability, and promoting cooperative coexistence with neighboring countries.
