Egypt and Kuwait Engage in Political Consultations on Regional Peace and Bilateral Ties

Egypt: Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held political consultations on Sunday with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who is currently visiting Cairo. The discussions were focused on joint coordination regarding regional and international developments and strategies to enhance bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the consultations addressed efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and end ongoing conflicts, with particular attention to the latest developments in US-Iran negotiations. Abdelatty briefed Sheikh Jarrah on the outcomes of his recent visit to Washington and the quadrilateral meeting held on Saturday in Antalya, Turkiye, which included the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkiye.

In this context, Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's stance on addressing Gulf states' security concerns in any future regional arrangements. He affirmed that Kuwait's security is a fundamental aspect of Egypt's national security. Abdelatty also highlighted the necessity for strengthening coordination and joint Arab action to confront the present challenges.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for Kuwait, expressing unequivocal condemnation of any attacks targeting Kuwait's security and stability. He rejected any attempts to undermine Kuwait's sovereignty and affirmed Egypt's full support for measures taken by Kuwait to protect its security. Abdelatty commended Kuwait for its support of the Egyptian community amid current sensitive circumstances.

Kuwait's Foreign Minister expressed deep appreciation for Egypt's supportive stance, lauding Egypt's crucial role in promoting regional security and stability. He also praised Egypt's continuous efforts to reduce tensions and foster Arab unity.
