Egypt and EU Explore New Avenues for Migration Cooperation

Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, in a phone call today with European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner, discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the European Union (EU) on the issue of migration. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach that links migration to development while tackling the root causes of irregular migration. He emphasized the need to strengthen coordination based on mutual interests to support stability and development in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty highlighted the necessity of continuing bilateral cooperation projects and strengthening partnerships on regular migration through joint training and technical education programs. The dialogue reflects a mutual interest in addressing migration challenges while fostering economic development and stability. The discussions are expected to pave the way for more robust collaboration and innovative solutions to manage migration effectively.
