Doha: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in Cairo on Sunday with European Union’s Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs, Dubravka Suica. The two discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting emphasized the importance of EU support for efforts to restore calm and achieve stability in the region, as well as for the establishment of a Palestinian state, which is seen as the only guarantee for lasting peace in the region.
Regarding bilateral relations, President El-Sisi highlighted the momentum in Egypt’s ties with the EU, especially with the elevation of their relationship to a strategic and comprehensive partnership starting in March 2024. He stressed the need to intensify joint efforts to implement the key areas of this partnership.
