Reykjavik: An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit northeast of the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik today.
According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred 975 kilometers from northeast the capital, at a depth of 10 kilometers. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.
In December 2024, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred 111 kilometers west of Hofn town, Iceland.
