An earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Thursday the Kermadec Islands off the coast of New Zealand. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 179 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. There have been no reports of casualties or material losses due to the earthquake so far.
