Earthquake of 4.5 Strikes Iceland

Doha: An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck today south of Hofn, Iceland. The seismic event was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers, occurring 121 kilometers from the Icelandic capital.

According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported the incident. No casualties or material damage have been reported as a result of the earthquake.

In December 2024, an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the Reykjanes Peninsula, located southwest of Iceland.
