An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Tuesday the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia.
According to the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) concerned with seismology, the quake occurred 28 km from the village of Ust'-Kamchatsk at a depth of 7 km.
There was no information of damage or injuries.
The Kamchatka Peninsula is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire, making it largely exposed to seismic and volcanic activity.
