Jerusalem: Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem Tuesday morning, under heavy protection from the occupation forces.
According to Qatar News Agency, the settlers stormed Al-Aqsa in successive groups and performed provocative Talmudic rituals in the eastern area of the mosque, amid a heavy Israeli police presence around the Al-Qibli prayer hall and the Dome of the Rock.
The Israeli police also imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshippers through the mosque's gates and confiscated the ID cards of a number of worshippers, restricting their movement.
This incursion is part of the escalating policies and ongoing violations targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially in light of repeated calls by alleged "Temple Mount" groups to storm it and establish temporal and spatial division.
