Doha: M7, Qatar Museums' center for innovation and entrepreneurship in design, fashion, and technology, will open the third edition of its annual exhibition "The Edit" on Friday at Gallery 2, running until November 25. Organized in collaboration with the Qatar Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture, the exhibition will feature more than 20 local, regional, and international brands.
According to Qatar News Agency, Maha Ghanim Al Sulaiti, Director of M7, expressed pride in continuing to present initiatives like The Edit as part of M7's vision to champion creativity that transcends borders. This year's showcase not only celebrates regional craftsmanship but also welcomes global brands that are shaping the future of fashion in a sustainable, thoughtful, and creative manner. Al Sulaiti highlighted the introduction of a fresh line-up of brands to local and international audiences.
Al Sulaiti further emphasized the value of ongoing collaboration with the Years of Culture initiative, which continually sparks unexpected connections and creative exchanges. Each partnership introduces new voices and perspectives that enrich the design community. The director expressed eagerness to welcome Chilean and Argentinian designers and looks forward to sharing ideas and techniques that resonate with Qatar's appreciation for craftsmanship and innovation.
As part of the event, the Years of Culture program will present a "Makers' Space Takeover", showcasing experiments with natural and recycled fibers to develop new sustainable yarns. The project merges traditional Andean knitting techniques with modern digital fabrication tools. An "Open Studio" event will also be held on November 27, featuring live demonstrations, material showcases, and discussions on how heritage and technology can shape the future of sustainable design.
