Doha to Host 298th Session of IPU Executive Committee

Doha: The State of Qatar, represented by the Shura Council, will host the 298th session of the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on Tuesday and Wednesday. This event is part of Qatar's ongoing commitment to supporting multilateral parliamentary work and efforts to enhance international dialogue and coordination among parliaments.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting will focus on evaluating the progress made in implementing the Union's current strategy and discussing the general directions for the next five-year strategy. Additionally, the session will address several organizational and parliamentary issues related to enhancing the Union's role and the effectiveness of its mechanisms.

The State of Qatar's hosting of this session highlights its commitment to supporting joint international action and reinforcing the role of parliamentary institutions-particularly the Executive Committee-in guiding international parliamentary work.
