Doha Forum 2025 to Address Global Crises with Focus on Policy, Diplomacy, and Humanitarian Development

Doha: The 2025 iteration of the Doha Forum, due to commence on Dec. 6, 2025, will concentrate on a trifecta of core domains, policy, diplomacy, and humanitarian development, and convenes amid a turbulent global landscape, as the world grapples with acute crises across multiple regions, political frictions, mounting social pressures, and rapidly evolving technological shifts whose ramifications are now defeat-proofing no corner of the globe, General Manager of Doha Forum Maha Al Kuwari told Qatar News Agency.

According to Qatar News Agency, the forum, held under the theme "Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress", will convene thought leaders and policymakers to transition from proclamations and rhetoric to practical solutions and concrete steps capable of generating the desired impact. Al Kuwari clarified that the forum will concentrate on policy, diplomacy, and humanitarian development, highlighting the challenges governments face globally in political conflicts, economic fragility, and governance.

The forum offers a neutral platform for thought leaders and policymakers to address pressing global issues and reinforce international cooperation to embed justice and stability in global decision-making. On the diplomatic front, the forum aims to transcend traditional policymaking through sports, culture, and multidisciplinary dialogue. From a humanitarian perspective, it will address inequities in education, healthcare, and social development.

For over two decades, Doha Forum has been a leading global platform for dialogue. Al Kuwari highlighted justice as the core of this year's agenda, aiming to translate it into cooperative policies and actionable solutions. The forum will explore issues like peace and security, economic resilience, AI, global health, and media integrity through collaboration with global partners and institutions.

The 2025 forum is expected to be one of the most prominent since its inception, with over 6,000 participants registered, a rise in global participants, and increased digital engagement. There is also a notable increase in official delegations, senior-level policymakers, and speakers, with 125 sessions and 471 speakers planned.

Al Kuwari emphasized the depth of engagement, broader regional representation, and increased involvement of foreign ministers and international institutions. The forum hosts closed-door discussions for candid dialogue, including discussions on Gaza, Sudan, and Yemen, and workshops on applied technology and cross-sector dialogues.

The forum fosters cooperation among participating states, acting as a bridge for communication and trust-building. Participation has expanded through outreach in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The format of panel discussions has been enhanced with voices from directly affected communities.

The 2025 Forum will host the tenth meeting of the Middle East Consultation Group of the Munich Security Conference and launch new strategic partnerships with major global institutions. A youth edition will precede the main event, involving young leaders in global conversations and policy processes.

The forum's agenda includes regional security, diplomacy, economic transformation, social cohesion, and technology, with themes like "The New Wealth of Nations" and "Iran and the Changing Regional Security Environment." It welcomes participants from over 150 countries, including heads of state and leaders from major organizations.

Al Kuwari stressed the importance of balanced sessions reflecting multiple regions, aiming to shift global dialogue toward concrete, actionable results and building a more just, secure, and sustainable world.
