Doha: Al Gharafa beat Umm Salal 4-2 in a six-goal thriller in their Week 1 match of the 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Bayt Stadium on Friday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cheetahs made a remarkable comeback in the second half. Goals came from Senegalese Seydou Sano, Spanish star Joselu, Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson, who broke the deadlock at 2-2 with a shot, and Ahmed Al Janahi, who scored from the top of the box.

The Orange Fortress initially led the match 1-0 at half-time with goals from Croatian star Antonio Mance and Moroccan winger Oussama Tannane. Both teams hit the goal posts once during the match, adding to the excitement of the game.
