Doha: Displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip welcomed the holy month of Ramadan amid harsh humanitarian conditions, as heavy rains flooded dozens of tents that sheltered them, along with the remains of destroyed homes they had taken refuge in. This situation persists in light of Israel’s procrastination in bringing in mobile homes and heavy equipment to improve living conditions, as stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Israeli entity has destroyed about 88 percent of the infrastructure in the Strip during more than 15 months of genocidal war. This includes homes, hospitals, roads, and vital service institutions. The death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 48,388 martyrs, with 111,803 injuries since October 7, 2023. There are also a number of victims trapped under the rubble and on the roads, where ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them due to a lack of equipment.
Amidst this painful scene, Israel is reportedly attempting to get rid of UNRWA by preventing it from carrying out any activities inside the occupied Palestinian territories. This adds a new dimension to its alleged crimes, not only against the Palestinian people but against humanity, the report concludes.
In another local matter, the English-language newspaper The Peninsula highlighted the Qatar 1,812 KM race hosted at Lusail International Circuit, which is the opening race in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season. The season’s curtain raiser drew a total of 36 teams, making for a thrilling season opener.
The stakes were high as teams aimed for an early lead in the championship, which will travel across the globe with stops in Italy, Belgium, France, Brazil, the USA, and Japan before concluding in Bahrain in November. The Peninsula pointed out that in addition to the races hosted at the Lusail International Circuit, the event was a showcase of the State of Qatar’s commitment to developing local motorsports talent.
