Diamond League Council Anticipates Intense Showdown Between Monaco, Doha Legs

Monaco: The Diamond League Council has confirmed the participation of some of the world's top Olympic and World Championship medalists in the upcoming Monaco leg of the Diamond League, scheduled for Friday. The event is expected to witness fierce competition as athletes aim to break records set in previous rounds, most notably those achieved during the Doha leg.

According to Qatar News Agency, several marks established in the Doha meet last May remain the best of the 2025 season and have stood strong through successive events. Key contests to watch in Monaco include the 800m, 400m hurdles, 110m hurdles, high jump, and pole vault, all of which saw standout performances in the Qatari capital.

As the 10th stop on this year's Diamond League circuit, the Monaco meet presents a crucial opportunity for elite athletes to claim top rankings across both track and field events.

Among the headline competitors is Swedish pole vault sensation Armand Duplantis, the current world record holder with a mark of 6.28 meters. Duplantis previously set the season's best in Doha before surpassing it himself during the Stockholm leg in his home country.
