Doha: The Language Center at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) has celebrated the graduation of its 13th cohort (Spring 2025) from the Fellowship for the Study of Arabic and Social Sciences program.
According to Qatar News Agency, over 14 weeks, students from the United States, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Bosnia, and Turkiye, non-native Arabic speakers eager to enhance their proficiency, immersed themselves in intensive language courses and participated in cultural activities, including visits to Qatar's museums and Qatar National Library, kayaking through mangrove forests to Bin Ghannam Island, and a calligraphy workshop, among other enriching experiences.
The Fellowship Program is built on multiple components designed to enhance participants' linguistic, academic, and cultural skills in Arabic. One of its most vital elements is the Language Partnership Initiative, which provides students with linguistic and cultural pairing opportunities, helping them engage with Arabic dialects, understand Arab youth interests, and expand academic and professional networking prospects.
The institute highlighted the immersive environment of the program, as students benefit from the research and academic atmosphere at Doha Institute and the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies. Participants can attend postgraduate lectures in various fields, engage in discussions with guest speakers, and take advantage of the events, activities, and conferences hosted by the institute.
According to the statement, the Fellowship Program plays a crucial role in realizing the institute's vision of fostering intellectual connections and promoting dialogue among students, faculty, and international academic platforms, while ensuring continuity and expansion of these ties.
The program lasts one academic semester, catering to advanced Arabic learners and heritage learners seeking to refine their linguistic and cultural skills.
