Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Highlights Qatar’s Commitment to Empowering Women.

Moscow: HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hessa bint Hassan Al Sulaiti underscored Qatar's dedication to supporting women and enhancing their roles in developmental and societal fields. She emphasized the importance of empowering women and their participation in achieving global peace during her speech at the Third International Forum Woman of the Third Millennium in Moscow. According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Sulaiti highlighted Qatar's exemplary efforts in empowering women, noting the significant roles Qatari women play in the labor market and as family nurturers, contributing to national stability and prosperity. She stressed the forum's role in addressing women's issues, especially in conflict zones, where women face severe abuses like displacement and violence, urging international intervention to protect women's rights. Dr. Al Sulaiti condemned the atrocities against women in Palestine and Lebanon, calling for international accountability and reform. She emphasized the necessity of includi ng women in peace processes as per United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, to ensure sustainable peace. In a session on soft diplomacy, Dr. Al Sulaiti highlighted its growing influence in international relations and encouraged women's involvement in education and digital technology. She praised Qatar's commitment to women's education and professional training, which has enabled Qatari women to assume leadership positions. The forum, a platform for female leaders, discusses women's roles and challenges in the modern world, with participation from global women's organizations. Dr. Al Sulaiti concluded by reiterating Qatar's commitment to using soft diplomacy to foster a safer and more just world.
