Deputy Speaker of Shura Council Engages with International Parliamentarians in Tashkent

Tashkent: HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti held significant meetings with key parliamentarians, including HE Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia Nelly Butete, HE Iranian Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Hamid Reza Haji Babaei, and HE Member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia Ismail Mohamed. These discussions took place on the sidelines of the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which recently concluded in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meetings primarily focused on enhancing parliamentary relations and addressing several issues of shared interest. In addition to these interactions, HE Dr. Al Sulaiti also met with HE Secretary-General of the IPU Martin Chungong and HE Director of Member Parliament Affairs and External Relations at the IPU Anda Filip. These meetings centered around discussing the outcomes of the IPU General Assembly and exploring ways to strengthen parliamentary partnerships at both regional and international levels.

The Shura Council successfully concluded its active participation in the five-day 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), an event marked by widespread international parliamentary representation.
