Death Toll from Two Israeli Airstrikes on Southern Lebanese Towns Rises to 16, with 40 Injured

Doha: The death toll from two Israeli airstrikes targeting the towns of Tayr Debba and Jouaiya in southern Lebanon has risen to 16, with 40 others injured.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that the final toll from the strikes carried out by Israeli forces reached nine people killed and 17 injured in Tayr Debba, and seven killed and 23 injured in Jouaiya.

In a related development, the number of people displaced by the Israeli attacks on Lebanon has surpassed 500,000, as residents were forced to flee their homes in search of safety.

The United Nations refugee agency said in a statement that its teams are distributing mattresses, blankets, fuel containers, and sleeping mats at shelter centers. However, it noted that the humanitarian needs of the displaced are significant and are increasing rapidly beyond the resources currently available.

Earlier today, Israeli warplanes carried out several airstrikes targeting the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut as well as areas in southern Lebanon.
