Jerusalem: Colonists stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police.
According to Qatar News Agency, dozens of colonists entered Al-Aqsa Mosque in groups via the Mughrabi Gate. They conducted tours in its courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals. The incident was reported by the Palestinian news agency, WAFA.
In response, the occupation police intensified security in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, transforming it into a military barracks. Hundreds of officers were deployed, especially near the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Additionally, the police reinforced military measures at the mosque's gates and the entrances to the Old City, imposing restrictions on worshipers attempting to enter.
Since the onset of the comprehensive Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in October 2023, more than 68,000 colonists have entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. This has occurred under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces, alongside increased restrictions on Palestinian access to the mosque and the Old City.
