With a diverse geography, Morocco is positioning itself as a “major potential supplier of clean energy” for Europe, whose demand is growing, writes the Italian media, “Energia Oltre”.
“Morocco’s vast landscapes, extensive coastline and sunny climate offer it large-scale potential for wind and solar farms,” says the news agency, pointing out that “the Kingdom’s proximity to Europe means it could become a key energy source for the European Union.”
“The demand for new sources of clean energy has proved almost insatiable in Europe, which is trying to reshape its energy markets after the latest crisis,” notes the media outlet specializing in energy issues, adding that “the Old Continent has, in this wake, embarked on its own green energy transition, raising its clean energy commitments.”
“Achieving these objectives will require the development of an enormous amount of new, clean energy resources”, he said, highlighting, in this respect, “the role of Morocco, which has enormous potential in this area, unlike most European countries.”
The Italian news agency “AGC News” points out that “Morocco is considered one of the pioneering countries in renewable energies, and ranks seventh in the world in terms of energy performance.”
