Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday expressed his country's readiness to work with Spain to craft a comprehensive strategic partnership with greater strategic resolve, dynamism, and global influence. During his meeting with Spanish King Felipe VI, who is visiting Beijing, Xi emphasized the deep historical and cultural heritage shared by China and Spain. He noted that over the more than 50 years since establishing diplomatic relations, the two countries have consistently approached and strengthened their bilateral ties from a strategic and long-term perspective, respecting and supporting each other and contributing to each other's success.

According to Qatar News Agency, Xi highlighted that the relationship between China and Spain has set a model worthy of emulation in pursuing friendly relations and shared development between countries with different historical and cultural backgrounds and social systems. This partnership has played an important role in promoting openness and cooperation globally and upholding international integrity and justice.

King Felipe VI affirmed that Spain and China enjoy friendly relations, reiterating the Spanish government's firm adherence to the one-China policy. He expressed support for China in safeguarding its unity and territorial integrity. King Felipe VI also conveyed Spain's readiness to work with China to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership for greater benefit to both countries and a greater contribution to global peace and stability.
