Beijing: The Shenzhou-20 space mission crew aboard China’s orbiting space station completed Friday their third round of extravehicular activities (EVA).
According to Qatar News Agency, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) explained in a statement that astronauts Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie worked for about six and a half hours and completed all the tasks assigned to the mission, with the assistance of the space station’s robotic arm and a ground control team.
The agency added that the crew installed space debris protection devices and additional facilities to assist with EVAs, as well as inspected and maintained external equipment.
Separately, the agency announced that the Long March 10 carrier rocket, China’s new-generation manned launch vehicle, successfully completed its first static ignition test today at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in southern China’s Hainan Island Province.
