China’s Bond Market Issuances Reach USD 1 Trillion in May

Beijing: Bond issuances in China neared 7.2 trillion yuan (about 1 trillion US dollars) in May this year, data from China's central bank shows.

According to Qatar News Agency, the People's Bank of China reported that issuances of treasury bonds reached 1.49 trillion yuan, while local government bond issuances were 779.44 billion yuan. Financial bond issuances totaled 1.22 trillion yuan, and corporate credit bond issuances amounted to 902.27 billion yuan.

Outstanding bonds held in custody were recorded at 187.2 trillion yuan by the end of May.
