China Raises Emergency Level as Typhoon Danas Approaches

Doha: Chinese authorities declared a state of emergency in the southern provinces of Fujian and Guangdong on Sunday in anticipation of the arrival of Typhoon Danas, the fourth typhoon this year. China's National Meteorological Center issued a yellow typhoon warning, predicting strong winds and heavy rains in the affected areas.

According to Qatar News Agency, emergency teams have been dispatched to deal with potential floods and storms. The Meteorological Center indicated that Typhoon Danas' winds may reach Category 12 or 13, with speeds ranging from 35 to 40 meters per second.

The typhoon is also expected to approach coastal areas in the southwestern parts of Taiwan and the northern parts of Fujian. China has a four-tier emergency response system, with level 1 representing the highest degree of danger, and a color-coded warning system that includes red, which is the highest level, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
