China Issues Regulations on Industrial Security, Supply Chains

Beijing: The Chinese government announced Wednesday a set of regulations on industrial and supply chain security, under a decree signed by Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

According to Qatar News Agency, the 18-article regulations took effect immediately upon promulgation and aim to prevent security risks in industrial and supply chains. The regulations intend to enhance the resilience and security of these sectors, thereby safeguarding economic and social stability as well as national security.

The document outlines principles for ensuring the security of industrial and supply chains, emphasizing the promotion of stable and smooth functioning of global industrial and supply chains. It also highlights the importance of supporting core technology research in key sectors.

Additionally, the document seeks to improve institutional measures to ensure stable production, circulation, and sustained operation of raw materials, technologies, equipment, and products in key sectors.

Furthermore, the regulations include provisions for establishing a security investigation mechanism for industrial and supply chains. This mechanism allows relevant departments to launch investigations and take countermeasures against foreign countries, regions, or international organizations, as well as foreign organizations or individuals, that undermine China's industrial and supply chain security.
