The president of the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN), Amado Cerrud Acevedo, hailed, on Wednesday in Laayoune, the socio-economic achievements and development momentum in the region of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra in several areas.
Acevedo, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a parliamentary delegation composed of members of the Executive Bureau of this regional parliament, also welcomed, in statements to the press, the quality of infrastructure and investments made in Laayoune, saying he was “impressed” by the quality of projects carried out in this city and the method of management of local issues.
In this regard, the President of PARLACEN expressed the willingness to benefit from the experience of the Laayoune Municipal Council in local management, through cooperation agreements for the benefit of Central American countries and, in particular, the Dominican Republic.
He also highlighted the quality of relations between the Central American countries through PARLACEN and the Kingdom of Morocco, expressing the willingness to consolidate cooperation ties in various fields.
For his part, the parliamentary counselor and representative of the Moroccan parliament to PARLACEN, Ahmed Lakhrif, said that the visit of the Central American parliamentary delegation is an opportunity to learn about the achievements in the region thanks to the high request of His Majesty King Mohammed VI towards the southern provinces.
This visit will allow members of the delegation to know the level of development of the southern provinces and note the climate of security, tranquility and stability prevailing in the region, which contradicts the lies spread by opponents of territorial integrity, added Lakhrif.
