The 18th Senior Officials’ Meeting and the 7th Senior Official Level Strategic Political Dialogue of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) commenced in Chengdu, in the People’s Republic of China on Monday with the participation of the State of Qatar.
The State of Qatar is represented by a delegation from the Department of Arab Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the permanent delegation of the State of Qatar to the Arab League.
The sessions’ agenda includes a number of Arab-Chinese issues of mutual interest regionally and globally, in addition to the mutual cooperation activities that will take place this year.
During his speech at the opening session, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector of the Arab League Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Manzalawi affirmed the Arab League’s eagerness to continue advancing Chinese-Arab cooperation within the framework of the Forum.
He indicated that the Forum now includes more than 15 cooperation mechanisms, and that CASCF will celebrate next year 20 years since its founding.
In a statement, the Arab League said that a delegation of senior officials from Arab states and the Arab League’s General Secretariat is scheduled to start an official visit to the Xinjiang-Uygur Autonomous Region from May 31 to June 3.
