Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Amiri Diwan, where significant national and international topics were reviewed and approved.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi issued a statement post-meeting, highlighting the Shura Council's approval of a draft law to extend the port management concession granted to the Qatar Ports Management Company. The Cabinet also discussed the strategic planning program for workforce development in government agencies, presented by the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau. This initiative aims to unify workforce planning, enhance workforce efficiency through data analysis, and forecast workforce needs over a five-year span, aligning with the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to bolster international cooperation. This includes the Police College joining the Interpol Global Academy Network, and an MoU on nuclear safety and radiation protection between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Other MoUs were approved for cybersecurity collaboration with Kuwait, municipal cooperation with Oman, and justice and law collaboration with Egypt.
Further international agreements included technical and vocational training with Algeria, labor cooperation with Vietnam, legal field cooperation with Rwanda, and a supplementary agreement with UNICEF. The Cabinet also reviewed reports from the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons, the Green Middle East Initiative, and the 34th meeting of GCC Ministers of Justice, making necessary decisions based on these evaluations.
