Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday morning.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated that the Cabinet praised the outcomes of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's recent visit to the Hellenic Republic. The discussions with Hellenic Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the signed Memorandum of Understanding were highlighted as pivotal in reinforcing the enduring relationship between the two nations and fostering future bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities.
The meeting agenda included the Shura Council's approval of a draft law concerning drones. This legislation aims to establish a legal framework for drone use to ensure air navigation safety, stimulate innovation, and define the roles of relevant authorities.
The Cabinet also reviewed the Shura Council's approval of a draft law on a unified system for voluntary work within the GCC states. This draft law is designed to boost social responsibility, encourage volunteerism, and establish clear institutional foundations for voluntary activities. It aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, focusing on social cohesion and increased volunteerism.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved a draft law on E-invoicing, prepared by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the General Tax Authority. This law aims to create a legal framework for e-invoices, enhancing transparency and supporting the digital transformation in regulatory and oversight functions.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decision to extend the compliance deadline stipulated in Law No. 23 of 2025 on water, and concluded its meeting by discussing the High-Level Arab Conference on the Implementation of the Doha Summit Declaration 2025 and the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs held in Jordan, making appropriate decisions based on these discussions.
