Cabinet Reviews Key Agreements and Approvals in Weekly Meeting

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan. Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi provided a detailed statement.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet began by extending heartfelt greetings to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. The Cabinet expressed wishes for continued health and prosperity for the Amir, Qatar, and its people, as well as for the Arab and Islamic nations.

The meeting’s agenda included the Shura Council’s approval of a draft law to extend the concession for Mowasalat (Karwa), the Qatari joint stock company responsible for managing and operating taxis. Additionally, the Cabinet approved a draft agreement with Tunisia aimed at enhancing customs law enforcement and combating violations.

Furthermore, the Cabinet consented to several memorandums of understanding with the United States. These include security cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and law enforcement cooperation between Qatar’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and the FBI.

The Cabinet also endorsed memorandums for legal cooperation with Albania, joint prosecution efforts with Egypt, and cultural heritage preservation between Qatar Museums and the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

The meeting concluded with a review of the Grievances Committee reports from the Qatar Financial Markets Authority covering periods from July 2023 to June 2024, along with a report on Qatar’s participation in the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in March 2025.
